The Path of Least Resistance

The shape and quantity of your thoughts determine the amount of resistance.  Thoughts that generate bad feelings are resistant thoughts.  Any thought that puts a barrier between what you like to have and your ability to attract it into your life is resistance.   Your intention is to live a tranquil life, free from stress and anxiety.  Stressful thoughts are a form of resistance, we keep the suffering alive by holding onto the thoughts.  Begin a practice of removing thoughts of resistance by becoming aware of them.  When you notice that you are obsessing or holding onto thoughts that create suffering, shift your energy.  Get out a book and get your thoughts preoccupied.  I personally find that music will easily shift my energy and thoughts to more peaceful and joyous thoughts.  I also use affirmations to drowned out the noise in my head.  One of my favorites is “this is not happening now, I am only thinking it.”  Think about that.  We allow our thoughts to take us to a place of the unknown, we are just assuming this or that will take place.  One of the greatest books on changing your thoughts and shifting your energy I have read is by Wayne Dyer, “The Power of Intention”.  I hope that you found this helpful.  Keeping You Empowered!  See how I changed my life, read my story.  CLICK HERE LEARN MORE ABOUT MY BOOK.    Sign up for my newsletter and learn to look at the world differently. http://eepurl.com/biYm2D

What if there were no such thing as failure?

Failing is a judgment that we humans place on a given action. Rather than judgment, substitute this attitude: You cannot fail, you can only produce results. Then the most important question to ask yourself is, “What do you do with the results you produce?” It is better to jump in and experience life than to stand on the sidelines fearing that something might go wrong.  Some 2,300 or so years ago, the great spiritual master Patanjali offered the kind of advice that resonated with me.  He said, “When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds, your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world.”   So, when we step back and examine our limiting belief, we can recognize that nothing can stand in our way of our goals and dreams but us. By remembering that fear is the acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real, we can step past it and become who and what we want to be. The components of anxiety, stress, fear, and anger do not exist independently of you in the world. They simply do not exist in the physical world, even though we talk about them as if they do. Discernment In Lieu of Judgment

The principle of learning how to discern/choose rather than judge is an important one in regards to whether we achieve happiness in life, or not. Discernment is about deciding how you’ll respond to get the maximum benefit out of the situation. It’s about accepting the situation, through reflecting upon it and asking yourself “Why is this happening, and what can I learn from it?” When you judge someone, it results in pain. You hurt yourself and the thing or person you are judging.  When you judge, it is usually because you feel emotional about someone or something, what they represent or what you feel they have done to you. Judgments develop out of an attempt to make sense of your life, especially as it applies to your relationships and the world around you. Judgments become “negative” to the extent they are based upon fearful notions that have been set into motion because of unresolved pain and suffering. Discernment is the power behind the choices you make according to the truth of who you really are. Discernment lends a hand to your need to grow and expand, and your need to know what is happening in your world right now.  The journey from judgment to discernment is the promise of consciousness to honestly meet and learn about all aspects of worldly and relational existence. It is the free will and power found within the healing, as consciousness works to correct and integrate the pains of the past. Discernment is to recognize or identify as separate or distinct. Judgment is to form an opinion after careful consideration. When you judge a situation, person, or place or even an idea without tempering it with wisdom and kindness, it becomes assumptions, this gets us in trouble. In closing, judging is not a learning approach to life. Even if the situation is unpleasant, it may be the very thing that will give us the learning that we need to advance. There are hidden complexities to life and as human beings we don’t have the insight, knowledge or understanding to judge.

Rekindling The Spirit of Love in Christmas

The true meaning of the holidays is one of joy, love, peace, and happiness. Cultivate a child-like awe and appreciation and have a joyous holiday!  Here’s a call to shift gears and reclaim what should be a time of appreciation, excitement, joy, and peace. Make up your mind that this is going to be your happiest holiday season ever. Your decision to emphasize the positive can reclaim a season that is supposed to bring out the best in us, rather than becoming a stressful time. The truth is that this time of year offers us a wonderful opportunity to rekindle the spirit of love and living life to the fullest.  Here are a few tips to remind yourself.

  • I’ll let the holidays flow, rather than trying to make them fit into a fixed schedule.
  • I’ll remember that people are more important than things.
  • I’ll relax my expectations for myself and others this year.
  • I’m going to live in the present moment and enjoy each activity for itself instead of always thinking about what is ahead of me.
  • I’m going to approach the holidays with a sense of joyful anticipation and wonder, just like I did when I was a child.

This life is a miracle, each and every particle of it, and the holiday season is a celebration of the miraculousness of it all.  Merry Christmas from my home to yours……. Share the joy of the love that fills your heart.

The Empowering Contemplation of Healing

An Affirmation Opens The Door

Affirmations are short powerful statements.  It is very important to be aware of this because any statement you say to yourself affects your personal resonance.  This is why it is so important to get out of the habit of devaluing ourselves and making negative comments about ourselves that have become habit. Affirmations are a great way to change your thought process.  When you affirm to yourself the good things you do and your contribution to the world it brings your energy (resonance) to a positive state.  There are many affirmations to use for just about every emotion.  When I first began this process and an emotion arose within me and I wanted to react to it, I would simply google the affirmations for that emotion and just start reading them.  Before you know it, you will be able to create your own affirmations mentally from all the practice you will have done.

An affirmation opens the door. It’s a beginning point on the path to change. In essence, you’re saying to your subconscious mind: “I am taking responsibility. I am aware that there is something I can do to change.” When I talk about doing affirmations, I mean consciously choosing words that will either help eliminate something from your life or help create something new in your life.

Your beliefs are merely habitual thinking patterns that you learned as a child. Many of them work very well for you. Other beliefs may be limiting your ability to create the very things you say you want. What you want and what you believe you deserve may be very different. You need to pay attention to your thoughts so that you can begin to eliminate the ones creating experiences you do not want in your life. Realize that every complaint is an affirmation of something you think you don’t want in your life. Every time you get angry, you’re affirming that you want more anger in your life. Every time you feel like a victim, you’re affirming that you want to continue to feel like a victim. If you feel that Life isn’t giving you what you want in your world, then it’s certain that you will never have the goodies that Life gives to others-that is, until you change the way you think and talk. You’re not a bad person for thinking the way you do. You’ve just never learned how to think and talk. People throughout the world are just now beginning to learn that our thoughts create our experiences. Your parents probably didn’t know this, so they couldn’t possibly teach it to you.

They taught you how to look at life in the way that their parents taught them. So nobody is wrong. However, it’s time for all of us to wake up and begin to consciously create our lives in a way that pleases and supports us. You can do it. I can do it. We all can do it-we just need to learn how. So let’s get to it.

With affirmations, whenever you feel stuck in an emotion or thought, you have the ability to change that thought by affirming an affirmation over and over in your head (mentally).  You do have the power to let go of all patterns of negativity through awareness, commitment and desire to change. Release your limitations, think big, think joyous and think deserving.

Becoming The Observer

Becoming the observer of your thoughts, emotions and actions is essential in maintaining a personal resonance of a high vibration.  When you master this, your life will become one of great control. Rather than react to thoughts, situations and emotions immediately, let it process.  If the reaction does not serve your resonance, don’t do it.

You are not your thoughts!  Let the worry of negative ones go.  Instead of reacting to everything that you think, become an unbiased observer of your thoughts.  Awareness will only happen if you are willing to commit to yourself to be consciously aware of your thoughts.  Most people don’t even realize that the majority of their lives are lived in an unconscious state.  You have to learn to become observant.  Learn to observe and be a witness to every act you do and ever thought that passes through your mind.  This is a lot of work but you will find that the more watchful you become your internal chatter will become less and less.

What is Your Personal Resonance?

One of the basic principles of “The Law of Attraction”, “The Universal Spiritual Laws” and “The Universal Laws of Karma” is to always be aware of your personal resonance. This is the energy that you are projecting into the world.  For The Law of Attraction to work for you, it is all about the energy we are giving.  This fundamental thought helped me tremendously.  I became so aware of my emotions that when they moved to a negative state, I immediately shifted my energy to a positive state.  This requires awareness and action.  Awareness, recognizing the negative emotion and action, being willing to do what you need to do to change it.  Let’s begin:

The Law of Magnetism states that you can only magnetize or attract the same type of energy that you put out about yourself.  Each of us projects a personal energy field, an energetic message about ourselves, which is our signature resonance and the source of much of what we attract.  Your energy consists of these vibrations:  Mechanical, Acoustic, and Electro-Magnetic.

To become aware of your personal resonance you must ask yourself:  What are the predominant emotional vibrations of my life?  Do I tend to resonate with the agitated frequencies of fear and anxiety, or do I resonate with the fluid energy of trust and peace?  Do I align with the heavy, dark, and dense frequencies of depression; or do I live in gentle feelings of present contentment?

Understanding Toxic Relationships

Toxic thought patterns is negative thinking and I have broken them down into seven categories.  All toxic thought patterns fall into one of two categories: devaluing and catastrophic thinking.  To break toxic thought patterns, we have to become aware of them.  Most of your negative thinking will come from one of the seven toxic thought patterns.   They are important to know, because without identifying these sources of your negative energy, it will be difficult to break these mental habits.  This is why it is so important to become aware of them in order to make your energetic shift to one of attracting your dreams and desires.  Let’s look at the seven toxic thought patterns.  Remember if you are allowing yourself to have these type thoughts, you are affecting your personal resonance.

  1. Devaluing– dismisses the value you could find in yourself, others, situations, or events.   Signals of devaluing are judgment and criticism for yourself or others.  This minimizes the worth of your life and creates a lack of appreciation.
  2. Catastrophic thinking– is the other major category of negative thinking.  This looks at the “worst case scenario,” anticipating all the things that could go wrong, even if there’s a chance of things going well.
  3. Urgency– is a pattern of need and unrest.  It comes from the need to be certain about how things turn out, and it leads to agitation, fear, and the need for control, all emotional vibrations that block receptivity.
  4. Comparing and competing– not only devalues you, it creates striving and envy, fragmenting your harmonic connections with others and the Universe.  This blocks assistance and support from the universe.
  5. Victimization and blame– will cause you to lose your power in your own life and in the world.  It also causes you to focus on what’s wrong and fear more of the same in the future.
  6. Absolutes or all-or-nothing thinking– can be judgmental, like “I will always be fat,” or catastrophic like, “I’ll never get a job.”  Negative absolutes do not represent your truth, and they block alignment and balanced energy.
  7. Time Warping– is a form of catastrophic thinking that jumps back and forth from the past to the future.  Time warpers constantly rehash old experiences, often engaging in self-recrimination, wishing they could have done or said something different in order to create different results.  They also run future events and potential encounters through their minds, anticipating future events and worrying about their outcome.

Ways to help you become aware of your toxic thought patterns and to overcome them.

  1. Notice when you are having a difficult feeling.  This is a sign of negative thinking.  Describe the feeling and the situation that caused that emotion.
  2. Identify your negative thoughts and write them down.  Correlate the toxic thought pattern that it falls under.
  3. Now try to find a more positive way to look at that situation and replace it with a positive thought.
